Interim Financial Controller
Andrews & Cole, LLC is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee all aspects of the company’s financial operations. The role involves financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, compliance, and oversight of accounting processes while partnering closely with leadership to support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
Financial Oversight: Manage all accounting operations and ensure the timely publication of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Internal Controls: Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and provide monthly variance analysis to help management understand performance gaps
Compliance & Tax: Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Audit Management: Act as the primary liaison for external auditors, managing the year-end audit process and ensuring all documentation is ready and accurate
Cash Flow Management: Monitor and project cash flow to ensure the organization meets its financial obligations and optimizes investment opportunities
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff (A/P, A/R, Payroll), fostering a culture of accuracy and professional development
Qualification
Required
Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance (experience in public accounting is often a plus)
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivots, VLOOKUPs, modeling) and experience with ERP systems like NetSuite, SAP, or Sage
Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders
Preferred
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) is highly preferred
