Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable full-stack applications and services within The Zebra
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and deliver new features
Develop clean, reusable, testable code across backend and frontend codebases
Drive technical design and architecture discussions
Participate in code reviews and provide technical mentorship to other engineers
Monitor performance, troubleshoot production issues, and continuously improve the codebase and processes
Contribute to planning and prioritization, helping the team deliver predictably and effectively
Act as a technical leader for the team and grow other engineers through example and mentorship
Qualification
Required
5+ years of professional software development experience
Expertise in both frontend and backend development
Working proficiency in technologies such as: Frontend: Javascript, React, TypeScript, HTML/CSS; Backend: Python, Django, or similar; Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB; Cloud & DevOps: AWS, GCP, Docker, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, CircleCI)
Experience designing APIs and integrating with external systems
Familiarity with secure coding practices, performance optimization, and testing frameworks
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
A collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn and grow
Preferred
Experience with unit testing and TDD
A Github profile or public code portfolio
