Stealth Startup is focused on rethinking the human-computer interface through AI-powered wearables. As a Lead Software Engineer, you'll architect the next-generation mobile platform, driving mobile application architecture and collaborating with product and research teams to operationalize AI.

Responsibilities

Architect and develop our cross-platform mobile app using React Native (Expo)
Design and optimize real-time communication systems
Ensure high performance, efficient networking, and battery-aware operation
Collaborate closely with product and design to deliver pixel-perfect, delightful UI/UX
Driving the culture of technical excellency, testing standards, release and support processes
Partner with backend and infrastructure teams to shape API and overall system design
Hands-on development and leadership for remote and distributed teams

Required

10+ years of software engineering experience, 3+ years of experience with React Native
Expert knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript and modern mobile architecture patterns
Experience with Expo development for iOS and Android
Strong understanding of mobile performance optimization (network, rendering, battery, audio, video)
Strong UI/UX intuition and ability to collaborate iteratively with product and design teams
Significant experience with real-time data synchronization and low-latency APIs (i.e. building on top of WebSockets, WebRTC, SSE, gRPC, Socket.IO, Firebase, liveblocks, Y.js, etc.)
Experience establishing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, observability, and code quality frameworks
Excellent communication skills and prior success leading and mentoring remote teams

Preferred

Familiarity with iOS Native Development, Swift, CallKit, Prompt Engineering, Chatbots
