They are seeking a motivated Junior Cost Accountant who will specialize in accounting for product costs and support the finance team in various accounting activities.

Responsibilities
Assist with preparing and reviewing cost reports to identify trends, variances, and potential areas for improvement
Support cash flow forecasting and basic financial planning activities
Perform balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and general ledger support to help maintain accurate financial records
Use accounting systems and ERP tools (e.g., NetSuite) to collect, analyze, and report financial data
Support compliance with GAAP, SOX, and internal accounting policies
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting; help prepare data and summaries for management review
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support cost tracking, reporting, and process improvements
Analyze costs related to materials, labor, overhead, scrap, rework, and returns; assist with maintaining standard cost data and variance analysis
Support inventory accounting activities, including excess and obsolete inventory analysis, physical counts, and related reporting
Provide support for audits, warranty analysis, intercompany transactions, and other cost accounting activities as needed
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and internal reports
Participate in special projects and ad hoc analyses as assigned
Demonstrate a willingness to learn, contribute to team goals, and continuously develop accounting and analytical skills
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Basic understanding of cost accounting principles
Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office
Strong attention to detail with solid organizational and analytical skills
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate effectively
Eagerness to learn new systems, processes, and accounting concepts
Must have reliable transportation and stellar attendance with the ability to work overtime when required to meet project deadlines
Strong analytical skills
Ability to organize and work in a fast-paced environment
Learning agility to master new software
Strong interpersonal skills with a high degree of professionalism
Maturity, confidence, and ability to earn respect and trust from the team
Ability to both identify issues and self-motivation to research and implement solution to resolution
Ability to work on-site during regular business hours of 8-5 M-F
Preferred
Internship, co-op, or 0–2 years of relevant accounting or finance experience preferred
CPA or CMA a plus
Exposure to manufacturing or project/job costing is a plus
Experience with NetSuite or other ERP systems is a plus
