Post-Doctoral Researcher
Drexel University is seeking a Post-Doctoral Researcher to join Dr. Peter J. Gaskill's lab in the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology. The role involves conducting research on the effects of neurotransmitters on immune function, particularly focusing on HIV infection dynamics and mentoring junior lab members.

Writing fellowships, papers to disseminate Gaskill lab research
Mentoring junior scientists in the lab

Qualification
Required
Minimum of a PhD or Doctorate in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Neuroscience, Virology or the equivalent combination of education and work experience
Minimum of 5 + (including PhD work)
Proactive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, able to respond well to constructive criticism, strong interest in neuroimmunology, familiarity with molecular and cell biology techniques, willing to work with and around primary human blood and HIV, working knowledge of statistics, proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, GraphPad, experience mentoring junior scientists
Preferred
Cell culture of myeloid lineage cells and/or human primary cells, expertise in assays examining function of mitochondria and other organelles, expertise in inflammasome activity, experience in iPSC differentiation, experience in microscopy and image analysis programs (high content experience ideal), familiarity / experience in bioinformatic analysis of large-scale data sets, familiarity / experience in Python coding
