Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain backend software systems and services
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code; participate in design and code reviews
Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in production and non-production environments
Collaborate with product managers, designers, data partners, and infrastructure teams to deliver scoped outcomes
Contribute to operational excellence, including on-call or support rotations when required
Follow Meta’s security, privacy, and engineering best practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
3+ years of experience in backend software development
Experience programming in one or more general-purpose languages (e.g., C++, Java, Python, Go)
Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and modern development workflows (CI/CD)
Ability to work effectively in a distributed environment and communicate technical concepts clearly
Authorization to work in the United States for the duration of the assignment
Experience building scalable backend services and infrastructure
Hands-on experience with performance, reliability, and quality evaluation of backend systems
Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on maintainable and efficient system design
Ability to write high-quality, testable, and maintainable code
Familiarity with collaborative development workflows, code reviews, and automated testing
Preferred
Experience building or operating data-intensive or distributed systems
Exposure to cloud infrastructure and service-oriented architectures
Familiarity with AI agent workflows or foundational AI/ML concepts
Experience participating in on-call rotations or operational support
Knowledge of Meta/Facebook security, privacy, and engineering standards
