They are seeking an intern to support an initiative focused on applying machine learning and sensor technologies to improve quality control and predictive maintenance in manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities
Conduct research on available AI, optical, laser, and sensor technologies applicable to real-time quality inspection and machine performance monitoring
Evaluate feasibility, practicality, and potential benefits of implementing these technologies in a manufacturing environment
Prototype a system for optical analysis of drilling and grooving quality using high-resolution camera feeds
Investigate sensor-based data collection (vibration, thermal, humidity) and explore AI-driven methods for performance trend analysis
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to define key variables and data gaps in current machining processes
Document findings and propose next steps for technology integration and long-term system development
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field
Well-developed interpersonal skills. The ability to communicate effectively on various levels, verbally and in writing is essential
Must be able to work independently and within a group
Proficiency in data collection and analysis (Excel, statistical tools, etc.)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with machine learning, computer vision, and sensor technologies
Experience with Python, MATLAB, or similar tools for data analysis and prototyping
