Quality Assurance Specialist - Accounting Officer Senior

This position exists to provide quality assurance oversight of fiscal operations, data reporting, and compliance for allocations and grants managed by the Grants and Allocations Unit.

Responsibilities
Conduct quality assurance monitoring of fiscal operations, allocations, and reporting to ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and grant requirements
Provide technical guidance and oversee the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures to support compliance and continuous improvement
Oversee and support financial and grant management systems to ensure accuracy, reliability, and effective user support
Maintain and organize fiscal documentation to support audit readiness and ensure compliance with internal, state, and federal requirements
Review outgoing emails in the shared inbox to ensure timely response and completion
Qualification
Required
Two (2) years professional accounting experience
Grants management and grant accounting expertise, with strong knowledge of grant compliance requirements and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Advanced skill in process improvement and development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to build efficient, scalable, and repeatable financial workflows
Ability to support and guide audits and financial reviews, including responding to complex inquiries to ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational standards
Strong technical and analytical capabilities, including proficiency with complex spreadsheets, databases, and innovative tools that improve accuracy and efficiency
Ability to analyze complex fiscal data, identify risks or issues, and implement effective solutions, with exceptional organizational and communication skills
Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance or related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional experience
Preferred
Advanced data skills, including complex spreadsheet modeling, dashboard creation, data validation techniques, and working with relational databases or BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
Experience with Enterprise Grants Management System
Experience reviewing and auditing large financial accounts and reports
Knowledge of the SWIFT accounting system
Familiarity with federal grant regulations and state/local compliance requirements
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple demands under tight time constraints
Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
