Project Geologist

Responsibilities

Understand, protect and promote our empathetic, people-focused culture in all aspects of the business
Understand and implement complex technical requirements for client projects to meet client satisfaction and ensure projects are delivered safely and within scope, schedule and budget
Lead drilling oversight; groundwater, soil and rock sampling; and groundwater monitoring efforts on site. Conduct field studies and surveys to collect soil/groundwater samples and data
Prepare and review geological maps, cross-sections, and detailed technical reports. Ensure quality, timeliness, and regulatory compliance of deliverables
Assist with preparing regulatory submittals, such as permit applications and plans
Oversee several small projects and occasionally lead larger, multidisciplinary ones. Assist in developing project strategy, scope, and budgets
Serve as a secondary client contact and support relationship development. Present findings and recommendations to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies
Oversee and mentor junior staff, coordinate project team activities, and ensure team safety in the field through Health and Safety Plans (HASP)
Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and industry standards. Monitor and assess geological hazards

Required

A positive, team-oriented attitude
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology or related discipline
Tennessee Professional Geologist (PG) registration
At least 3-7 years of applicable experience
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to conduct fieldwork with some heavy lifting
Proficient with MS. Office suite of products

Preferred

40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training is a plus
Previous consulting experience preferred
