Pharmacist
VitalCore Health Strategies is an industry leader in Correctional Health Care with an opening for a Temporary Full-Time Pharmacist at their MA DOC Regional Office in Hopkinton, MA. The Pharmacist will provide oversight to the pharmacy operation within correctional facilities, interacting with various healthcare professionals to ensure quality services are delivered.

Responsibilities
Supervises and maintains pharmacy operations in accordance with all applicable laws in order to provide pharmacy services to all contracted facilities
Supervises, negotiates, and reviews purchasing of pharmaceuticals
Ensures that an adequate supply of medications is on hand to meet the needs of our clients
Develops, implements, and reviews policies relating to all aspects of the pharmacy operation
Ensures that all state and federal licenses are kept current and active
Determines and maintains staffing levels to ensure adequate staff are available to perform the functions of the pharmacy
Consults, advises, and participates in the performance evaluations of pharmacy personnel
Responsible for identifying, correcting, and documenting pharmacy errors/incidents
Reviews utilization of medications and provides insight to providers on non-formulary medication requests
Each month gathers data and presents on medication trends within the facilities
Maintains and posts scheduling for all pharmacy employees
Administration of PTO requests for Pharmacists, Technicians, and warehouse employees
Performs yearly performance evaluations for Pharmacists
Counseling of Pharmacist(s) when warranted
Develops, implements, supervises, and reviews all aspects of drug dispensing and storage within the pharmacy
Attends training and meetings as required
Demonstrates proficiency in all company software required for the position
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Graduate of an accredited college of Pharmacy program with a minimum PharmD degree
Five (5) years of experience as a pharmacist
Thorough knowledge of all applicable state and federal laws, rules/regulations, and institutional rules/regulations
Current certification/licensure in state of employment. Must receive a satisfactory background investigation report
Requires critical thinking, organizational, decisive judgment, communication, and customer service skills
Must be able to handle multiple tasks, be able to work in a stressful environment, and take appropriate actions as needed
Must follow all Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations in addition to state and federal laws at all times
