Responsibilities
Architect and build features from scratch, supported by a non-technical UX/UI creator, PPM, and Product Owner
Collaborate on architecture decisions and technical direction
Implement features across the full stack (React frontend, Express backend, PostgreSQL)
Help establish patterns for multi-venue scaling
Contribute to roadmap prioritization from a technical feasibility perspective
Review code and ensure quality, scalability, and maintainability
Partner with AI development tools (Replit Agent, Cursor, etc.) to accelerate delivery or others you might be familiar with
Explore cost-effective alternatives to tech used today, including open source, etc
Align technical initiatives with business goals and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders
Make cost-effective decisions on infrastructure, tools, and workflows
Qualification
Required
Currently employed in a technical role, looking for a meaningful side project
5+ years of experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript full-stack development
Comfortable with ambiguity - You can take a rough idea and architect a solution
Self-directed - You don't need hand-holding, but you communicate proactively
Patient - You understand startups in niche markets take time to build momentum
Excellent time management skills - This is a side project; you manage your own schedule
Hunger to deliver and understanding of delayed gratification
Commitment - when you say you'll do something, the team doesn't have to chase you down
Expertise in software architecture and scalable infrastructure
Familiarity with lean startup principles and MVP-first development
Preferred
Experience with igaming, egaming, AR/VR/MR, sports, GIS/mapping, blockchain technology, or event management software
Mobile-first responsive design expertise
Background in B2B SaaS or marketplace products
Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows (Replit Agent, Cursor, etc.)
Experience with AI/ML, Agent-based co-development, P2P payments, marketplace commerce
Prior role or experience in a founding role, as an early-stage startup contributor
