Lead, Manufacturing Process Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

Improve manufacturing processes by reducing variation and strengthening control
Analyze process capability, stability, and failure modes using data-driven methods
Develop and implement process improvements, controls, and mistake-proofing
Apply and sustain SPC to maintain process performance
Support APQP, PFMEA, control plans, and production readiness
Partner with operators, engineers, and supervisors to improve process understanding and ownership
Provide manufacturing process expertise to team-led improvement initiatives
Teach and coach teams on process discipline and quality fundamentals
Up to 30% business travel to L3Harris manufacturing sites
Ability to obtain US Security Clearance

Required

Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 9 years of prior Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial or Quality Engineering experience; Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial or Quality Engineering experience; In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of prior Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial or Quality Engineering experience
4+ years experience improving manufacturing processes in a production environment
4+ years data analysis experience working with manufacturing data
4+ years experience teaching, coaching and mentoring others
2+ years APQP and Process Control experience
Ability to obtain US Security Clearance

Preferred

Experience in manufacturing and quality, preferably defense, aerospace, automotive, or similar industries
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (or higher)
Experience with SPC, PFMEA, control plans, and mistake-proofing
Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar standards
Prior leadership experience with direct reports or strong cross-functional influence
Experience collaborating within a Microsoft 365 environment, with proficiency in the included applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
