Digital Content Producer

The Mexican American Legislative Caucus (MALC) is seeking a creative, motivated, and detail-oriented Digital Content Producer to support the Caucus’s communications, media, and storytelling efforts. This role involves leading day-to-day digital content production, shaping MALC’s digital presence, and supporting member communications and engagement.

Political Organization

Responsibilities

Develops, produces, and manages digital content for MALC and its leadership across social media platforms (including X/Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and emerging platforms)
Supports and executes MALC’s digital communications strategy in coordination with the Executive Director
Produces high-quality videos, graphics, photos, and written digital content, including short-form video, reels, clips, and rapid-response content
Assists with press-related digital needs, including clipping media hits, producing shareable content tied to press coverage, and supporting media moments
Documents and/or live streams legislative, advocacy, and Caucus events, including press conferences, hearings, rallies, town halls, and community events
Pulls and edits video clips from legislative hearings, floor debates, press conferences, and public events
Builds and maintains a digital asset library, including b-roll, photos, graphics, and templates for Caucus and member use
Supports digital promotion of MALC fundraising events, policy briefings, and MALLF programming
Coordinates with members and staff to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely digital messaging
Assists in drafting scripts, captions, talking points, and digital messaging as needed
Assists with broader communication efforts, including content planning and messaging coordination
Stays up-to-date on digital trends, platform changes, and best practices relevant to political and advocacy communications
Supports rapid-response communications during legislative sessions or breaking news
Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Required

Bachelor's degree in communications, digital media, political science, journalism, or a related field preferred
Minimum two years of experience in digital content production, social media engagement, photography, videography, or graphic design
Experience with social media management platforms such as Sprout Social, Buffer, or similar tools
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects or similar)
Familiarity with video editing, photography, and basic audio production
Proficiency using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with leadership
Willingness to work outside of standard hours during session, events, or breaking news

Preferred

Experience working in a political, legislative, advocacy, or nonprofit environment strongly preferred
Understanding of the legislative process and political communications preferred
