Associate Radiological Controls Technician

Responsibilities

Monitor, survey, and assess work areas for radiological hazards
Perform contamination control, decontamination operations, and airborne radioactivity sampling
Ensure compliance with radiological controls, NNPP guidance, and applicable federal and state regulations
Provide oversight and guidance on radiological safety practices to promote risk minimization
Conduct radiation surveys, maintain accurate records, and document and report findings
Support employee training efforts around radiological safety and compliance procedures
Respond to radiological events or emergencies following established protocols
Operate and maintain radiation detection and monitoring equipment

Required

High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
High school diploma or equivalent and qualification as a Naval Nuclear Propulsion Operator (or commercial nuclear equivalent) and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
High school diploma and RCTQS qualified
Associates degree from an accredited college or university or Journeymans Papers in a related field

Preferred

Associate degree or higher in Radiological Technology, Health Physics, or a science related field
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
