This position is responsible for developing new business, maintaining client relationships, negotiating deals, and managing the contracting process for assigned sales accounts.

Developing new business and maintaining relationships with current clients within an assigned sales region to meet an annual sales goal
Negotiating deal points, developing proposals, coordinating, and conducting site inspections with prospective clients, and managing the contracting process for assigned sales accounts
Representing the Phoenix Convention Center on sales missions and at industry events, as assigned
Qualification
Required
Three years of experience in hospitality sales and marketing, to include a convention or cultural center, hotel, or other large public use facility
Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field
Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted
Works more than 40 hours in a workweek without additional compensation to perform assigned job duties, including weekends, evenings, early morning hours and holidays as required
All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position
Preferred
Experience with/in Sales
Prospecting and outbound sales efforts in the local Arizona market
Working for a city-owned & operated convention center
Selling space in performance venues
Contract negotiations
Using event management software
Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation
