Responsibilities
Facilitates improved decision making through a structured understanding of opportunities and threats across the full spectrum of the enterprise’s risk portfolio
Leads strategic and tactical risk integration efforts across six domains: internal controls, operations, projects, programs, portfolios, and the enterprise
Analyzes, designs, and implements processes and predictive models using a wide variety of data sets
Gains insight into key business problems and deliverables by applying statistical analysis techniques to examine structured and unstructured data from multiple disparate sources
Collaborates across departments and with customers to define requirements and understand business problems
Uses advanced mathematics, statistical, querying, and reporting methods to develop solutions
Develops information tools, algorithms, dashboards, and queries to monitor and improve business performance
Creates solutions from initial concept to full implementation and deployment across the enterprise
Effectively uses current and emerging technologies to perform assigned duties
Communicates results to a broad range of audiences, acting as a trusted business advisor to senior and executive staff
Exercises and makes sound decisions regarding Enterprise Risk Management principles, theories, and concepts. Typically receives and is receptive to advice from co-workers or broad direction from senior managers
Interacts and collaborates frequently internally and externally to direct, persuade, lead, and achieve departmental or organizational goals
Qualification
Required
BS in Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics
OR MS in Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics
Ability to lead and manage complex projects across organizational units; ability to apply and demonstrate competencies in solving a range of complex problems
Ability to exercise professional judgment and knowledge to develop best approach to solutions; ability to select the best solution, from a range of possible solutions and development of some original solutions, understanding that problems are complex, diverse, and impactful to major projects and the organization
Ability to guide work of professional staff
Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status
The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required
This position may require entry into the Material Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (10 C.F.R. Part 712), which requires successful competition of a DOE counterintelligence evaluation and may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination
This position may be categorized as a 'designated position' identified by 10 C.F.R. Part 709, requiring successful completion of a DOE counterintelligence evaluation that may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination
