The Engineering Mech II position involves testing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment as well as plumbing systems within the hospital, ensuring a safe and clean working environment.

Responsibilities
Maintains a safe, clean working environment, including unit based safety and infection control requirements
Independently maintains and repairs various mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) equipment throughout the hospital
Independently troubleshoots systems problems and makes repairs as necessary
Completes hospital preventive maintenance per schedule or as assigned
Assists to maintain and keeps track of equipment technical manuals
Maintains and orders needed equipment parts according to hospital policies and procedures
Adheres to all established codes and standards
Responsible to maintain a safe and clean work environment, including unit based specific safety and infection control requirements
Assists in the coordination of outside contractors to assist hospital personnel as required
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5 years' experience in maintenance within a large acute care facility, preferred
Ability to proficiently perform all the required TCMC competencies of an Engineering Mechanic II, required
Proficient rating in all Hospital Service Standards as indicated on most recent performance evaluation, required
Ability to independently troubleshoot and repair machinery and MEP systems, required
Ability to lift and perform manual tasks, required
Ability to perform a variety of changing duties as required
High School Diploma or GED, required
Valid California Drivers License, required
Preferred
One or more of the following certifications is preferred Certified Healthcare Mechanic, or C-10, or, State General Electrician's License, or Related Construction/Industrial Trade License
EPA Refrigerant Transition & Recovery certification, preferred
