Responsibilities
Work with data analysts to interpret and understand data requirements
Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using visualization tools
Ensure that all data visualization deliverables meet quality standards and business needs
Perform detailed data analysis and create clear, compelling, and innovative visual presentations
Collaborate with different teams to collect, process, and clean data for visualization purposes
Identify trends and patterns in data and provide insights to stakeholders
Maintain and improve existing data visualization tools and dashboards
Develop training materials and provide training to staff on data visualization tools and best practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or
Master's degree in a related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status
The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required
This position may require entry into the Material Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (10 C.F.R. Part 712), which requires successful competition of a DOE counterintelligence evaluation and may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination
This position may be categorized as a 'designated position' identified by 10 C.F.R. Part 709, requiring successful completion of a DOE counterintelligence evaluation that may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination
Candidates accepting a job offer will be required to pass a pre-placement physical, drug screening and background investigation
As an employee, you may be required to receive and maintain a security clearance from the United States Department of Energy in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to sensitive information or matter
U.S. citizenship is a requirement for security clearance applicants
All employees are subject to being randomly selected for drug testing without advance notification
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field
Proven work experience as a Data Visualization Specialist or similar role
Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, PowerPoint, or similar
Experience with Python, R, SQL, and/or Microsoft Access
Excel skill level needed: Advanced to Expert
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex data in a clear manner
Detail-oriented with a critical eye for the accuracy of data and attention to detail
Ability to meet rigorous deliverable schedules
Experience with programming complex and compound formulas to execute logical calculations and create data compilations
