Crisis Co - Responder

Vera French Community Mental Health Center is seeking a Crisis Co - Responder to join their team. The role involves responding to mental health crises in collaboration with local law enforcement, providing clinical support, conducting assessments, and facilitating access to community resources.

Responsibilities

Ride along with local law enforcement during scheduled shift to be dispatched directly to relevant incidents or be dispatched to the scene post-initial law enforcement contact
Provide clinical support on the scene, conduct screening and assessments, review known client history, and refer to community resources as needed
Provide proactive follow-up support to encourage client services and treatment engagement
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
Communicate effectively with individuals in highly stressful situations
Serve as a subject matter expert in co-response and de-escalation in crisis situations

Required

Bachelor's degree in social work and/or criminal justice or in related area
Previous experience in working with persons with mental illness; previous experience working and collaborating with law enforcement
Previous experience in mental health crisis intervention through non-traditional modalities
Valid Driver's License
