Responsibilities

Heavy typing and formatting of various reports and documents in MS Word
Edit and proofread documents for grammar, punctuation, and style consistency
Previous experience with transcription (from tapes) in legal, legal or other related fields
Listen attentively to audio recordings from tapes to accurately transcribe dictation of consultative reports that include detailed findings from pre-accreditation surveys conducted by certified hospital management consulting professionals at hospitals and other healthcare facilities
Research applicable state and federal regulations from The Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, state licensing agencies, and related national organizations to be included in Mock Survey Reports
Communicate effectively with expert consultants
Perform document conversions, including OCR scanning and converting PDFs to editable MS Word docs
Produce marketing letters using MS Word templates and Excel
Produce highly-formatted newsletters using Microsoft Publish
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Maintain organized records of all processed documents for easy retrieval
Operate office equipment including computers, photocopy, scanning, postage meter, and fax equipment

Required

Prior Word Processing experience in an office
Previous experience with tape transcription in legal, legal or other related fields
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher
Expertise in preparing documents and correspondence from verbal or written instructions, dictation, rough drafts or other materials
Strong editing and proofreading skills with attention to detail
Proficiency in typing with a minimum speed of 75 words per minute
Familiarity with transcription processes and tools
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely
Familiarity with medical terminology
Excellent organization skills
Proficient in document format, styles, toolbars, headers, footers, bullet numbering, merge
Maintains consistency in document layout, utilizing styles and templates
