Responsibilities

Provide enterprise database administration for Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server environments supporting DON OA applications

Perform routine and advanced DBA functions including performance tuning, backups, recovery, archiving, and patching

Design, create, modify, and maintain databases to support both legacy and future systems

Implement and manage automated DBA processes to improve reliability, efficiency, and consistency

Ensure database security through access controls, monitoring, and compliance with DoD/DON security requirements

Support backend database development and integration efforts in coordination with application developers and system engineers

Maintain accurate and up-to-date database documentation, schemas, and configuration records

Support data cataloging initiatives by coordinating with Information Owners to ensure data accuracy and integrity

Assist with troubleshooting database-related incidents and participate in root cause analysis as required
