Latitude Legal is assisting an investment company in identifying an experienced, Illinois-licensed litigation attorney to support a commercial loan enforcement matter arising from a borrower default. The attorney will take a lead role in pursuing claims against the defaulting company and managing the litigation through key phases.

Responsibilities

Handle all aspects of a commercial loan default and enforcement matter on behalf of an investment company
Draft and file pleadings, motions, and other submissions in Illinois state and/or federal court
Develop and execute litigation strategy in coordination with the client and any outside counsel
Manage discovery, including written discovery, document review, and depositions
Evaluate enforcement options and remedies, including settlement strategies and judgment enforcement
Provide clear, practical legal guidance aligned with the client’s commercial objectives

Illinois bar licenseCommercial litigation experienceLegal writing skillsCase management skillsIndependently managing mattersMeeting deadlinesAdvising stakeholdersStrategic evaluationSettlement strategies

Required

Active Illinois bar license in good standing (required)
5+ years of litigation experience, with a focus on commercial litigation, loan enforcement, creditor rights, or financial disputes
Strong legal writing, motion practice, and case management skills
Experience managing matters independently and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision

Preferred

Prior experience representing lenders, investors, or financial institutions is strongly preferred
