Corrections Community Center Monitor (Philadelphia CCC)

NEOGOV is part of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, seeking individuals to provide care, custody, control, monitoring, and supervision of the re-entrant population at a community corrections center. The role involves ensuring safety and security by supervising re-entrants, conducting tests, and assisting in their transition back into the community.

Responsibilities

Ensure the safety and security of the CCC by supervising re-entrants and recording your observations
Maintaining the sign-in sheet for all re-entrants and visitors
Conduct breathalyzer tests, urine tests, room inspections, and searches for prohibited items
Teach new re-entrants the facility rules and provide information on public services
Attend disciplinary hearings and serve as a point of contact for law enforcement agencies

Required

You must be able to work in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
You must have the ability to work different shifts or irregular scheduled hours
You must successfully complete classroom training at the DOC Training Academy in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania
You must be able to perform essential job functions
You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements

Preferred

Two (2) years of experience performing public safety or security work. (Examples of qualifying experience include, but are not limited to: public safety or security work involving protection of persons and/or property and maintaining required security through enforcement of rules, regulations, and laws; public safety or security work in a correctional setting, juvenile, or adult development/detention center, law enforcement entity, or military security experience)
One (1) year of work experience providing direction/guidance to individuals. (Examples of qualifying work experience include, but are not limited to: performing as a lead worker or supervisor assigning and evaluating work tasks, providing informal counseling, or giving orders in the military)
