Business Development Manager – Data Center & Power Supply

BYD North America is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager for their Electronics division, focusing on data center power supply and critical infrastructure. The role involves driving new business and strategic partnerships related to power supply units and data center power solutions for hyperscale and enterprise customers.

Responsibilities

Drive new business development for data center power products and solutions, including PSU, UPS, power modules, and related power electronics
Develop and manage relationships with hyperscale customers, colocation providers, OEMs, system integrators, and EPC partners
Identify customer needs and translate them into manufacturable, cost-effective solutions in collaboration with BYD's engineering and operations teams
Own the full BD cycle: opportunity identification, technical alignment, quotation, negotiation, and contract closure
Lead RFP/RFQ responses, including pricing strategy, capacity planning, and commercialization timelines
Develop long-term account strategies to support revenue growth and market expansion
Track industry trends in data center power density, efficiency, AI-driven load growth, and energy optimization
Represent BYD Electronics at customer meetings, technical workshops, and industry events

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related field
5+ years of business development, sales, or account management experience in data center power, power electronics, or electrical infrastructure
Strong understanding of data center power architecture, including PSU/UPS systems, redundancy (N/N+1/2N), efficiency standards, and reliability requirements
Experience working with ODM/OEM manufacturing models and cross-functional global teams
Proven ability to manage long sales cycles and close complex B2B deals
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required

Preferred

Direct experience supporting hyperscale data center customers
Background in power electronics manufacturing, EMS, or large-scale industrial production
Familiarity with sustainability, energy efficiency, or next-generation data center power trends
Existing industry relationships within the data center ecosystem
MBA or advanced technical degree
