Responsibilities
Handle removal defense cases before the Immigration Court
Prepare and litigate political asylum and juvenile petitions
Manage family-based immigration and marriage petitions
Draft legal briefs and appellate filings
Appear before federal immigration courts and, when applicable, Connecticut state courts
Maintain regular, compassionate communication with clients
Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor required
Admission to practice law in the State of Connecticut is required
Strong legal writing and advocacy skills
Excellent client service and communication abilities
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel up to 25 percent
Preferred
Minimum of two years of immigration law experience preferred
Experience appearing before federal immigration courts
Spanish fluency is highly preferred but not required
