This role involves working closely with internal stakeholders and a Professional Employer Organization (PEO) to ensure accurate financial records and smooth accounting processes.

Responsibilities
Support payroll processing and reporting in partnership with a PEO
Assist with the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries
Record day-to-day financial transactions in QuickBooks
Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Prepare and maintain account reconciliations and supporting schedules
Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data within QuickBooks
Use Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Drive, Gmail) to maintain documentation and collaborate with the team
Assist with ad hoc accounting and reporting projects as needed
Qualification
Required
3+ years of general accounting experience
Hands-on experience with QuickBooks (Online preferred)
Solid understanding of journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
Proficiency with Google Suite, especially Google Sheets
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote setting
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Preferred
Experience supporting payroll processes and working with a PEO strongly preferred
A part-time Staff Accountant who is reliable, proactive, and comfortable working part-time
A team player who communicates clearly in a virtual environment
An accountant who enjoys both transactional work and process support
