Associate Engineer (Asset Management)

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is a state-established cooperative that provides water for 19 million people in six counties. As an Associate Engineer (Asset Management), you will serve as an Asset Planning Lead for civil infrastructure and conduct asset management planning in alignment with strategic goals and standards. Your role will involve managing condition assessments, data management, and lifecycle cost forecasts for long-term planning of civil assets.

Responsibilities

Serve as an Asset Planning Lead for civil infrastructure (including aqueducts, canals, tunnels, pipelines, roads, and buildings) in the Operations Projects & Asset Management (OPAM) Unit
Leverage your skills as a technical specialist to conduct asset management planning in alignment with Metropolitan’s Strategic Asset Management Plan, ISO 55000, and the International Infrastructure Management Manual
Support and manage condition assessments; data collection and management; risk management processes; and lifecycle cost forecasts for long-term planning for Metropolitan’s civil assets
Support Metropolitan’s operations to mitigate impacts resulting from leases, easements, licenses, and developments and encroachments

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field AND four years of relevant experience, of which two years must have been at the Assistant Engineer II level
OR a Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years of relevant experience which must have been at the Assistant Engineer II level
A degree (Bachelors or Masters) in a related field is defined as: an Engineering degree
Relevant Experience is defined as: design/construction management of major capital projects AND/OR engineering project management AND/OR infrastructure asset management AND/OR utility management AND/OR maintenance engineering AND/OR reliability engineering
Certificates: Engineer in Training (EIT)
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment
