Engineering Superintendent, Rotating Equipment

Responsibilities

Leads and manages the Rotating Equipment Engineering team, ensuring alignment with safety, production, and reliability goals
Supports the development and implementation of maintenance strategies, predictive maintenance, and condition monitoring programs
Serves as the rotating and mechanical systems administrator with the primary focus on the development and implementation of programs to improve reliability
Provides daily rotating equipment and mechanical systems support to the plant to keep the plant systems operational
Responsible for tracking availability and improving overall reliability for the rotating equipment and its systems throughout the plant (Gas Turbines, Process Compressors, fin-fans, pumps, blowers, gear boxes, mixers, diesel drivers, etc.)
Supports business with developing and maintaining various customer service agreements with OEMs
Performs supervisory duties and coordinates with Human Resources on staffing-related activities including Job Descriptions, Roles and Responsibilities, recruiting, interviewing, selection, hiring, discipline, development, training, promotions, and salary changes
Supports line Manager on the successful implementation of Goals and initiatives for the Rotating Equipment Engineering Discipline
Coordinates and develops proposals for plant improvements including design basis and preliminary estimates and budgets for capital projects
Provide technical guidance during development and construction, supporting the capital projects team as required
Drive development and implementation of Company and Engineering Services initiatives
Promotes a strong safety culture and ensures adherence to HSE standards
Reviews and approves design modifications and facility additions and ensures that management of change (MOC) process is adhered to, and that adequate records and documents are initiated and maintained
Develops and implements employee training and development plans to ensure the Rotating Equipment department has essential competencies and capabilities to meet business needs

Required

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required
Minimum of ten (10)+ years' of relevant experience in an industrial environment in engineering, maintenance, or operations
Strong leadership and administrative abilities are required
An acute sensitivity to safety issues in a hazardous environment
Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization and with individuals and groups from different disciplines, industries, and governmental agencies
Able to work with a culturally diverse group of technical individuals whose skills cover the range required to engineer, operate and maintain an LNG terminal
Organized with planning skills enabling management of multiple activities and programs timely and with a high degree of accuracy
Work deadline oriented and understands criticality of meeting deadlines in an operating plant environment
Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills
Computer experience including Project Management, CMMS database, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
In-depth knowledge of and experience with technical processes; project and design engineering; environmental quality; quality assurance; methods and procedures for monitoring costs and developing budgets
A high level of health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) awareness is required

Preferred

Recent experience with LNG is preferred, however, refining or petrochemical industry experience is acceptable
Previous leadership experience is highly desirable
