Mid-Level Water/Wastewater Project Engineer
Tetra Tech is a leader in water, environment, and sustainable infrastructure, seeking a Mid-Level Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join their Water team in Houston, Texas. This role involves supporting municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects from planning and design through construction, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and public-sector clients.

Responsibilities
Perform engineering design for water-related infrastructure and water resource facilities
Conduct site investigations and inspections and prepare detailed assessment reports
Prepare design calculations, technical reports, drawings, and specifications
Evaluate design alternatives, resolve technical issues, and coordinate with other engineering disciplines
Coordinate project activities with clients, subconsultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies
Support project execution from conceptual planning through permitting and development of final plans, specifications, and bid packages
Provide technical design support for water distribution systems, water and wastewater treatment facilities, and sanitary sewer collection systems
Ensure technical accuracy, adherence to engineering standards, and proper documentation across design deliverables
Provide construction phase services, including bid evaluations, plan clarifications, shop drawing reviews, progress report reviews, and change order evaluations
Interpret specifications and drawings, recommend design modifications, and coordinate changes with the design team
Independently assess engineering problems and recommend solutions to engineering discipline leads while ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience
Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil or Environmental Engineering, registered in Texas or ability to obtain Texas licensure within one year
Strong communication, technical writing, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Project
Preferred
Experience with hydraulic modeling software
Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D
Experience with municipal infrastructure design and permitting
