Responsibilities
Provides leadership in design management and relationship skills, leading integrated design and interactions with Stantec's clients
Apply technical and project management expertise while leading cross-functional resources to meet project requirements within established time frames and budgets
Serves as a trainer, mentor, and resource to others through direct supervision of 1-2 team members
Holds project team members accountable for developmental goals, project deliverables, and team financial performance
Assist team management with maintaining client relationships and proactively pursues opportunities for new business
Provide client consultation, drawing on professional expertise and knowledge of Stantec's services
Uses and applies design principles and has a working knowledge of technical research within the design field
Maintains current knowledge of technologies and trends, as they apply to the applicable project
May periodically act as Quality Control reviewer on projects
Effectively delegates work to production support staff, with providing technical guidance to less experienced professionals or technicians assigned to work on a common project
Proactively pursues additional knowledge in related disciplines by attending offered training
Actively participates in meetings, initiatives, and projects that support studio and firm-wide goals
Qualification
Required
Strong background in electrical engineering of healthcare projects
Exceptional client service skills
Leadership in design management and relationship skills
Technical and project management expertise
Ability to lead cross-functional resources to meet project requirements
Experience in training, mentoring, and supervising team members
Accountability for developmental goals, project deliverables, and team financial performance
Client relationship management and business development skills
Knowledge of design principles and technical research within the design field
Current knowledge of technologies and trends applicable to projects
Quality Control reviewer experience on projects
Ability to delegate work and provide technical guidance
Proactive pursuit of additional knowledge in related disciplines
Participation in meetings and initiatives supporting studio and firm-wide goals
Successful history of collaboration with electrical contractors on Design-Build projects
Experience in the construction industry and knowledge of construction processes
Ability to manage clients, projects, fees, and teams to achieve objectives
Ability to integrate design elements with other disciplines
Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards
Deep understanding of power distribution systems, lighting systems, and low voltage systems
Ability to apply sustainable design principles
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Functional knowledge of recent versions of AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP, and Bluebeam Tools
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Valid driver's license
Minimum 8+ years related professional experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred
EIT Registration or Equivalent
