Research and Development Engineer

Tate is an industry leader in the development and manufacture of data center infrastructure solutions. The R&D Engineer will support innovative research and development by assisting in the development and testing of cutting-edge solutions, prototype construction, and optimization of production processes.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the design, development, and testing of new products and technologies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to brainstorm ideas and solve technical challenges
Conduct research and analysis data to identify emerging trends and opportunities for innovation
Assist in implementing experimental protocols and procedures for R&D projects
Support documentation of project progress, including writing reports and maintaining records
Participate in prototype construction, assembly, and evaluation to validate design concepts
Engage in creating mockups and other hands-on production tasks to bring designs to life
Assist in the optimization of existing production processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and quality
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement in R&D and production practices
Demonstrate a proactive and collaborative approach within cross-functional teams
Maintain high attention to detail and uphold quality standards during all hands-on tasks
Embrace continuous learning to stay current with new technologies and industry developments
Contribute to a positive team culture by supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge
Participate in initiatives that improve sustainability and operational efficiency within the organization
Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy
Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands
Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System
Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service

Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in engineeringCAD softwareProduction experienceSimulation tools experienceProblem-solving skillsAttention to detailTeam collaboration

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering
Strong experience in production, assembly, and hands-on technical work
Solid academic foundation in mechanics, materials science, and engineering design
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for design and drafting purposes
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Preferred

Experience with simulation and analysis tools such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is advantageous
