Responsibilities
Develop and maintain configuration management processes, policies, and standards for cloud environments
Build, deploy, and enhance Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform to automate provisioning and lifecycle management of cloud resources such as compute, storage, databases, identities, and certificates
Manage and optimize multiple cloud environments including Dev, Test, Stage, and Prod to ensure consistency and security
Support and enhance automation pipelines using cloud DevOps toolsets for code management, build, deployment, and release processes
Work closely with DevOps teams on release activities, deployments, rollbacks, configuration updates, and environment readiness
Design and maintain automated cloud backup solutions ensuring resilience, data integrity, and compliance with retention policies
Implement automated patching workflows to ensure compliance with required security baselines
Conduct periodic audits of environment configuration, patch levels, backup integrity, and certificate compliance, recommending improvements
Manage SSL/TLS certificate installation, renewal, rotation, and validation across cloud services
Ensure secure configurations that align with enterprise and federal security standards
Maintain detailed documentation of configuration baselines, IaC standards, module usage, processes, and environment updates
Provide training to team members on Terraform, cloud best practices, patch automation, backup strategy, and certificate governance
Troubleshoot and optimize cloud environments using strong diagnostic skills
Communicate effectively with technical teams and leadership regarding configurations, releases, and environment health
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
Eight years of configuration management experience
Proficiency with Terraform and IaC methodologies
Hands‑on cloud experience with compute, storage, databases, identities, and certificate services
Experience with cloud backup solutions and automated patching
Expertise in SSL/TLS certificate management and security best practices
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to optimization
Ability to break down complex problems and develop tactical and strategic improvements
Strong organizational skills and effective communication abilities
Ability to work collaboratively in fast‑paced environments
Preferred
Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell for cloud automation
Cloud certifications and/or Terraform certification
Experience supporting government environments
Experience with vendor oversight or management
Experience with Agile delivery or project management tools
Experience with organizational change management
