Responsibilities

Support and strengthen overdose surveillance by pulling together data from EMS, hospitals, toxicology, naloxone distribution, and community partners using secure, compliant systems
Track drug supply trends and early warning signs like near-fatal overdoses, seizures, and emerging substances to help inform proactive public health responses
Evaluate public health and partner data systems to identify gaps, duplication, and opportunities for better data sharing with partners such as the Medical Examiner, Vital Records, Emergency Departments, and harm reduction programs
Analyze fatal and non-fatal overdoses, naloxone use, demographic and geographic trends, and key risk factors to better understand what’s happening and where
Build and maintain centralized dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that turn complex data into clear, actionable insights
Use data findings to help guide decision-making and support strategic investment of opioid settlement funds

Required

Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, or a closely related field
Knowledge of epidemiology principles and public health core functions
Ability to research, analyze, summarize, and present complex data
Experience with statistical analysis and data analysis software (SAS, SPSS, STATA, or R)
Knowledge of program planning, implementation, and evaluation
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Proficiency in common computer applications (Word, Excel, databases, presentations)
Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently
Ability to attend off-site meetings; valid driver's license and insurance required

Preferred

GIS experience
Advanced epidemiology experience
Ability to interpret technical and regulatory documents
