Human Resources Director

WE Soda is the world’s largest and most sustainable producer of soda ash, with operations in Turkey and two US-based facilities. The Human Resources Director will lead the HR function, drive organizational performance, strengthen employee engagement, and ensure effective HR systems and practices across the facility.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute the site HR strategy in partnership with the General Manager
Serve as a trusted coach and advisor to leaders
Lead and develop a high-performing HR team
Champion change management, employee engagement, and culture-building initiatives
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws
Oversee employee relations and guide leaders through complex issues
Manage compensation planning, salary adjustments, and bonus programs
Approve employment offers and support workforce planning
Lead succession planning, training, and performance management programs
Maintain accurate and current organizational structure
Support labor strategy and Collective Bargaining Agreement administration
Participate in contract negotiations and contingency planning
Partner with HR team members on dispute resolution and grievance processes
Attend regular union–management meetings
Lead organizational development and continuous improvement efforts
Support the compensation system structure and application
Manage the HR department budget and contribute to broader business operations

Required

Bachelor's degree required
7+ years of progressive HR experience
3+ years leading an HR team
5+ years of labor relations experience
HR experience in manufacturing or a similarly complex, fast-paced environment; mining preferred
Strong communication, coaching, influence, and decision-making skills
Proven ability to manage high-volume, shifting priorities with professionalism and discretion
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; HRIS experience is a plus
Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and navigate varied surfaces
Effective use of hands, vision, and hearing
Ability to learn, retain, categorize, and apply information
Ability to maintain focus, make timely decisions, and meet deadlines
Clear communication in a variety of situations

Preferred

Master's degree (MS or MBA) preferred
