Responsibilities
Administer Teradata platforms including database management, node management, ecosystem monitoring, workload management, and Viewpoint administration
Support upgrades, provisioning, software maintenance, and scripting using BASH, Perl, Python, and Glink
Manage Teradata Tools and Utilities, Platform Service Intelligent Monitoring (PSIM), and vendor‑based upgrades
Perform performance tuning and resource optimization across data warehouse environments
Manage Teradata backup and recovery processes
Support ETL processes and ensure efficient data workflows across the warehouse
Maintain cloud computing fundamentals including resource allocation, networking, and Azure environments as applicable
Apply Unix/Linux administration knowledge and firewall principles to support system operations
Ensure compliance with federal requirements including NIST 800‑53, IRS Pub 1075, SSA, and Medicaid standards
Provide audits, security planning, and support for security and compliance initiatives
Monitor platform performance and resolve issues impacting system functionality or user experience
Coordinate release, patch, and vendor support activities including escalated troubleshooting and platform improvement planning
Provide technical expertise and guidance to DBAs and specialists across the enterprise
Document technical planning, implementation strategies, platform delivery, and operational procedures
Support disaster recovery planning strategies in collaboration with agencies using the data warehouse
Contribute to long‑term EDW strategy planning with clients, management, and vendor personnel
Maintain accurate inventory, maintenance logs, and operational records for all environments
Support high‑performance analytics, data mining, and decision‑support activities across enterprise systems
Qualification
Required
3+ years of Teradata platform administration including database, node management, Viewpoint, TTU, and vendor upgrades
3+ years of experience in monitoring and observability including ecosystem health and PSIM administration
3+ years of performance tuning and workload management experience
3+ years of Teradata backup and recovery experience
3+ years of automation and scripting experience using BASH, Perl, Python, and Glink
3+ years of ETL experience
3+ years of cloud and infrastructure experience including cloud fundamentals, resource allocation, networking, Azure, Unix/Linux, and firewall knowledge
3+ years of security and compliance experience including audits, security planning, and federal requirements such as NIST 800‑53 and IRS Pub 1075
3+ years of statistics knowledge relevant to data warehouse performance and optimization
Ability to support high‑volume, enterprise data warehouse environments with diverse user bases
Strong communication and documentation skills for technical and operational materials
