Voice Engineer
SRM Digital LLC is seeking an experienced Voice Engineer with strong expertise in Cisco voice environments and Microsoft Teams Calling. The role will focus on managing large-scale telephony systems and leading migrations from Cisco Unified Call Manager to Microsoft Teams Phone using Direct Routing.
Responsibilities
Configure and manage Microsoft Teams Phone System, including policies, calling plans, and number assignments
Set up and maintain Direct Routing using SBCs such as AudioCodes or Ribbon, including testing and validation
Plan and execute user cutovers from Cisco to Microsoft Teams in coordinated migration waves
Configure and manage Teams call queues, auto attendants, voicemail, and routing policies
Migrate and validate analog and specialty lines, including gateways, intercoms, and paging systems
Coordinate with telecom carriers for number porting and PSTN transitions
Reconfigure or decommission Cisco voice gateways, SIP trunks, and related infrastructure post-migration
Update and maintain dial plans, routing tables, E911 configurations, and failover paths
Support coexistence scenarios during phased migration periods
Provide L2/L3 troubleshooting support during pilot, rollout, and mass migration phases
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SBC routing, Teams policy conflicts, device registration, and call quality
Handle escalations involving call drops, latency, jitter, packet loss, and network dependencies
Develop and maintain SOPs, migration runbooks, rollback plans, and end-user documentation
Qualification
Required
Strong experience with Voice / VoIP management tools, platforms, and operational processes
Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM) in large enterprise environments
Solid knowledge and experience with Session Border Controllers (SBCs), preferably Oracle SBC (or equivalent)
Strong understanding of call recording systems, preferably NICE
Proven experience with E911 configurations and compliance
Good working knowledge of Cisco UCS infrastructure
Strong understanding of general networking concepts (SIP, RTP, TCP/IP, QoS, VLANs, DNS)
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams Calling / Teams Phone System
Minimum 3+ years of experience managing large Cisco Call Manager telephony environments
