Responsibilities
Participating in due diligence review of title, survey, zoning and related documents
Drafting, editing, and conforming legal documents and correspondence
Ordering and negotiating title, survey and zoning reports
Identifying, analyzing and summarizing title, survey and zoning issues
Negotiating title insurance, surveys and zoning reports to correct title defects and issue clear title
Verify accuracy of final title insurance policies, surveys and zoning reports
Obtain services from outside contractors, including research services, filing services, and printing services
Process bills and disbursement paperwork in connection with those services
Organize, prepare and coordinate escrow closings for purchase, sale and finance transactions, including assisting attorneys in preparing closing documents, reviewing settlement statements, signature pages, closing logistics, document execution, recordation, delivery of agreements and documents to the various parties
Handling post-closing matters including filing UCCs and preparation of closing binders
Paralegals may be asked to provide general supervision of project assistants and other clerical staff
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
Must possess good organizational and communication skills
Excellent Microsoft software skills
Title, survey, and zoning examination experience
Willingness to learn
Ability to work overtime as needed
Preferred
Paralegal certification is a plus
Minimum of five (5) years at a large law firm as a Real Estate paralegal is preferred
