McCalla Raymer Leibert Pierce, LLP is seeking an Evictions Associate Attorney who will report to the Managing Partner of Evictions and manage their own caseload across Oregon and Washington. Responsibilities

Handle all aspects of eviction cases in Oregon and Washington
Attend court hearings (when practical due to geographical location or remote/virtual hearing capabilities) on eviction cases in Oregon and Washington
Prepare and review documentation required to be filed for eviction cases in Oregon and Washington
Must have strong writing skills and ability to draft civil litigation documents ranging from discovery to dispositive motions and client correspondence
Functional/applicable knowledge of Rent Control or Stabilization Ordinances and Just Cause Ordinances, with a desire to become an expert thereon
Jury Trial experience, a plus
Ability to think on your feet and quickly shift task-to-task depending on daily needs
Field questions from staff and assist in an affable manner
Write, review, and edit reports, opinions, correspondence, alerts, bulletins, articles for client notification and compliance purposes
Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed

Required

Licensed to practice law in both Oregon and Washington, or at least one year of active practice immediately preceding application for this role
Experience with Plaintiff or Defense-Side eviction law, or other related experience representing landlords, tenants, creditors and/or loan servicers
Experience with jury trials
Willingness to work in a team and ability to be self-driven and work independently
Proactively stay abreast of the laws, ordinances, and general legal landscape affecting landlord and tenants' rights in Oregon and Washington
Take ownership of assignments and work product
Direct communication with clients is expected and required
Strong writing skills and ability to draft civil litigation documents ranging from discovery to dispositive motions and client correspondence
Functional/applicable knowledge of Rent Control or Stabilization Ordinances and Just Cause Ordinances
Ability to think on your feet and quickly shift task-to-task depending on daily needs
Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations
Active membership in either the OR or WA State Bars, in good standing
Minimum of 2+ years of related experience in landlord/tenant evictions, post-foreclosure evictions, or legal aid in defense of tenants
Ability to work remotely as efficiently and competently as working in office
Motivated self-starter, ability to multi-task, detail-oriented, flexible and personable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ownership of assigned caseload
Proficiency with computer applications, technology, telephone, and Microsoft Office products
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
People skills, ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with various parties
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities
Demonstrate attention to detail and look for ways to improve and promote quality
Flexibility and adaptability for fast and high growth potential
Exceptional organizational skills; ability to multi-task and be adaptable to continual change
Proficiency in internet research, including WestLaw and/or LexisNexis

Active membership in both OR and WA State Bars
