Responsibilities
Greeting patients pleasantly and promptly
Answering a high volume of incoming calls using proper professional telephone etiquette and routes calls to proper areas/personnel on a multi-line phone system
Scheduling and confirming patient appointments
Obtain pre-certifications and prior authorizations from insurance providers
Communicating with patients, providers, referring physician offices, and staff
Registering patients into the computer system
Print daily schedule of exams and reviews for accuracy of exam, diagnosis, patient prep, with special attention to insurance requirements. Calls office of referring physician for any exam not having proper documentation
Insurance verification and verification of patient demographics
Payment processing of co-pay’s and/or patient balances
Handles patient requests for medical records, i.e. copies of images on CD’s, copies of reports or mailing CD’s to other facilities
Performs other related organizational duties as requested to expedite the daily work flow
Qualification
Required
Must be able to work in office (position is not remote)
High School diploma
At least one year experience in Customer Service oriented role
At least one year experience in operating at multi-line phone system
Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
Data entry experience required
Preferred
One year of experience in a medical practice is preferred
