CADD Designer

Responsibilities
Prepare accurate and detailed technical drawings, including plans, profiles, sections, and details, for transportation systems, water resources, drainage systems, and structural projects
Develop precise CAD models and construction-ready deliverables using AutoCAD Civil 3D
Draft grading plans, roadway alignments, utility layouts, stormwater drainage networks, and structural detailing for municipal and private infrastructure projects
Translate survey data and field notes into CAD drawings, ensuring precision in topographic maps, boundary maps, and utility plans
Work closely with engineers, designers, and project managers to ensure all drafting deliverables align with project specifications, objectives, and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with the survey team to integrate spatial data into design drawings for seamless project execution
Assist in identifying and resolving design discrepancies by coordinating revisions with engineers and design teams
Conduct self-reviews of drafting work to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with All South Consulting Engineers standards, municipal codes, and state guidelines
Maintain organized records of drafting files, revisions, and project documentation for ease of retrieval and future reference
Ensure all drawings and layouts meet regulatory requirements and adhere to the firm's quality standards for civil and structural engineering projects
Utilize advanced CADD tools and GIS platforms to improve the efficiency and accuracy of drafting workflows
Integrate survey and GIS data into CAD drawings, enabling enhanced spatial accuracy for large-scale infrastructure projects
Stay updated on new drafting technologies, tools, and standards to improve processes and recommend enhancements to workflows
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior drafters and design staff, sharing expertise in drafting techniques, tools, and best practices
Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation within the drafting team
Qualification
Required
Associate degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field
Minimum of 5-10 years of professional design experience, with a focus on municipal and civil infrastructure projects
Demonstrated expertise in creating detailed construction-ready drawings for transportation systems, water resource projects, drainage systems, and structural engineering designs
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation, and GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS)
Advanced knowledge of drafting techniques for grading plans, profiles, alignments, and structural detailing
Familiarity with regulatory standards, including municipal codes and state/federal engineering guidelines (e.g., FEMA requirements)
