Internship & Job Development Specialist
Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, dynamic professional Internship and Job Development Specialist to join their team. The role involves developing relationships with businesses to promote internship and employment opportunities for youth served by the Youth Career Center.

Responsibilities
Maintains awareness of labor market trends, high-demand and high-growth occupations, and job availability
Makes cold calls and outreach visits to employers to promote the internship and job placement program of the Youth Career Center
Develops a thorough understanding of local workforce trends and needs and emerging and growing industries within the service area of the Youth Career Center through connections with local economic development organizations, Chambers of Commerce, regional industry groups, KentuckianaWorks, and others
Meets with businesses and local Chambers of Commerce to develop a means of understanding the workforce needs of local employers and to identify the skills needed in new workers
Works in conjunction with the Youth Career Center staff, assists out-of-school youth in the development of a Career Plan for the career pathway chosen. The plan must result in a good match with the employer and skills required for a successful internship or job placement
Coordinates internship development, internship placement, job development, and job placement activities with the Program Manager and Youth Specialists of the Youth Career Center
Interacts with local businesses to identify appropriate sites for job shadowing, internships, and job placements for Youth Career Center participants, and assists Youth Specialists in securing appropriate sites
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Previous experience in sales, marketing, human resources, or job development is a plus
Previous experience working with young adults and/or individuals with barriers to employment is a plus
Must have valid driver's license and insurance and acceptable driving record
Must have the ability to establish and maintain good working relations with local and regional businesses, Chambers of Commerce, community agencies & partners, and at-risk youth
Must be a dynamic enthusiastic individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, patience, diplomacy, and a high level of customer service skills to collaborate with a diverse workforce
Must be flexible, multi-task orientated, and the able to prioritize job duties with minimal supervision, including flexibility in work hours
Must have the ability to spend up to 90% of work day working in the field in the six-county service region building relationships with employers and developing internship and job placement sites for youth participants
Must have a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle
Must be able to sit or stand for an extended period of time
