Responsibilities
Follow up on delinquent surgery center claims, working an expected number of claims per day
Contact insurance carriers of all types and communicate with patients regarding out of pocket amounts
Identify accounts that have been either under or over paid, issuing credit balance information to the insurance carrier or the patient
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality of the surgery center and patients while working under stress
Manage accounts worked independently and in a productive manner
Qualification
Required
2-3 years previous collections experience, with emphasis on healthcare insurance collections of all types
Medical terminology
Ability to work independently
Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
Skilled in time management and prioritization of emergent situations
Good customer service skills, always demonstrates professionalism
Comfortable utilizing critical thinking skills
Typing 45-60 WPM
High School Diploma or equivalency
Proficient with Microsoft Office products
Experience with electronic patient information systems
Preferred
Preference shown to previous experience in an ambulatory surgical setting
Prefer previous experience working with Advantx. (Patient Accounting System)
Prefer previous experience with Electronic Health Record system but will train
