Responsibilities
Assist with planning, creating, and scheduling content across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Reddit
Draft captions and posts that reflect DiabetesSisters’ warm, empowering, person-centered voice and language guidelines
Support content themes, including peer support, diabetes education, awareness days, events, and lived experiences of women with diabetes
Monitor comments, messages, and replies to help maintain a respectful, inclusive, and supportive online environment
Monitor and support DiabetesSisters’ Reddit presence by posting relevant content, responding to comments, and helping foster a safe, non-judgmental space for discussion
Engage thoughtfully across relevant subreddits (e.g., diabetes, women’s health, public health, prediabetes and prevention) by participating in conversations, sharing helpful resources when appropriate, and amplifying DiabetesSisters’ mission
Ensure all Reddit engagement aligns with subreddit rules, community norms, and DiabetesSisters’ values
Identify trending questions, concerns, and themes within online communities to inform content ideas, educational resources, and programming
Support initiatives that encourage peer-to-peer connection, story sharing, and community trust across platforms
Assist with promoting virtual events, meetups, and educational programs through social and community-based outreach
Track basic engagement metrics across social platforms, including Reddit (e.g., comments, upvotes, recurring topics)
Summarize community feedback and insights to support marketing, communications, and program planning
Learn how social listening and community engagement data inform mission-driven health communication strategies
Qualification
Required
Rising junior or senior pursuing a degree in Marketing, Public Health, Communications, Health Promotion, or a related field
Strong written communication skills and interest in digital storytelling
Familiarity with major social media platforms and online communities
Interest in women's health, chronic disease education, health equity, or nonprofit work
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and collaborate in a remote environment
Preferred
Knowledge of diabetes, public health, or chronic disease management
Interest or experience engaging in discussion-based platforms such as Reddit
Experience creating social media content (graphics, captions, short-form video)
Familiarity with tools such as Canva, Meta Business Suite, and HubSpot
