Human Resources Business Partner
LHH is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to support a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Morris County, NJ. This role will work closely with operations leadership to enhance workforce effectiveness through coaching, compliance, and data-driven insights.
Responsibilities
Coach managers on performance evaluations, employee development, and progressive discipline
Provide proactive HR support on employee relations issues, conflict resolution, safety concerns, and disciplinary actions
Ensure high-quality, confidential documentation around performance, coaching, safety, and terminations
Lead and ensure consistent application of progressive discipline processes
Partner with Talent Acquisition to conduct behavioral interviews and maintain high selection standards
Collaborate with trainers and managers on safety training, technical skills, cross-training, onboarding, and leadership development
Support scheduling/shift planning to align with production needs
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, ADA, OSHA, wage/hour)
Manage accommodations, leave administration, workers’ compensation, and return-to-work processes
Track and analyze key HR metrics (turnover, absenteeism, overtime, safety incidents) and provide data-driven insights
Participate in safety committees, continuous improvement events, Gemba walks, and production meetings
Conduct stay and exit interviews; recommend actions to improve engagement and retention
Serve as a resource for policy, payroll/timekeeping, and general employee support
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
5–7 years of HR experience within a manufacturing environment
Strong communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills
Ability to influence leaders, analyze data, and exercise sound judgment
Hands-on, floor‑focused approach with strong relationship‑building capabilities
Proficiency in HRIS, timekeeping, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel & PowerPoint)
Preferred
PHR certification
UKG or Oracle experience
