Document Controls Lead

Standard Lithium is a publicly traded lithium company focused on advancing multiple lithium brine projects in the southern United States. The Document Controls Lead will develop, implement, and maintain document control processes to ensure safe and compliant operations across the lithium production facility.

Responsibilities

Leads the development of Document Control (records management) system requirements/tools and document management procedures
Leads the document control activities across multiple project areas and supports development of corporate requirements
Supports management of SharePoint security/access requests with external parties
Supports Federal/Regulatory information requests, records and document management
Reviews documents for conformance with standards and templates; manages document numbering and indexing systems
Trains staff and contractors on Company document standards and document management processes
Maintain the document control system, ensuring documents are properly formatted, approved, distributed, stored, and archived
Manage version control of SOPs, work instructions, technical manuals, MSDS/SDS, EH&S documents, and quality records
Ensure controlled documents are accessible to authorized personnel and removed promptly when replaced or obsolete
Coordinate periodic document reviews with department owners to ensure accuracy and compliance
Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation, logs, and traceability records
Ensure the company meets regulatory documentation requirements (EPA, OSHA, BLM, state environmental agencies, etc.) relevant to lithium processing and industrial operations
Maintain secure retention of historical and compliance-related documentation
Manage the electronic document management system (EDMS), ensuring users are trained and records are accurately categorized
Assist in the implementation, upgrade, and integration of document management platforms
Ensure naming conventions, metadata standards, and filing structures remain consistent across the organization
Develop and refine document control procedures, templates, and workflows to improve efficiency
Provide training and guidance to employees on document management practices
Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and compliance throughout the company
Set clear and challenging goals while committing the organization to improved performance; is tenacious and accountable in driving results
Comply with the policies, procedures and standards set out by Standard Lithium, and with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards, including relevant Securities standards
Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, consultants and contractors
Perform any other duties that are required from time to time to support the corporate vision

Required

10+ years' experience in Project Controls in an Owner's organization or EPC/EPCM environment
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Records Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field
Minimum 3+ years of document control or records management experience, ideally in manufacturing, mining, chemical processing, or industrial operations
Strong understanding of document lifecycle management and governance best practices
Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail
Ability to manage large volumes of documents across multiple departments
Experience implementing Document Control software/solutions
Solid understanding of Engineering Document types and review processes
Effective communication skills including document writing proficiency
Customer-focused approach when supporting internal clients
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Comfortable working in a fast-moving industrial environment where accuracy and compliance are critical
Identifies issues and develops appropriate and innovative solutions
Communicate effectively with the Standard Lithium team, partner, service providers and other project stakeholders
Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, SharePoint mandatory

Preferred

Experience with development of templates, formatting and process of MS Word and MS PowerPoint files an asset
Experience with M-Files document management software preferred
