Senior Human Services Caseworker

NEOGOV is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Human Services Caseworker to join the Family Support Services Division on the Permanency Team. The role involves supporting permanency outcomes for children and families through advanced casework and staff supervision, focusing on safety, well-being, and permanency for children and families involved in the child welfare system.

Responsibilities

Conducting monthly home visits
Maintaining records of all adoption subsidy records
Completing Reports of Investigation on pre-adoptive placements
Preparing cases for permanency, to include full disclosure
Identifying and exploring placement options for youth who are not in pre-adoptive homes but are eligible for adoption
Completing Adoption Progress Reports and Annual Foster Care Reviews in accordance with court timelines
Coordinating with service providers and other involved agencies
Supervising at least one staff member on the team

Required

Bachelor's degree in social services, social work, or other human services field; OR a minimum of a bachelor's degree in any field with a minimum of two years of appropriate and related experience in a human services area

Candidates must pass criminal history, child protective services, and DMV background checks
All DSS staff are required to provide emergency human services work, including staffing emergency shelters in the event of a community disaster

Preferred

Master's degree in social work or other human services-related field
3 or more years of experience working with foster care youth and families in a public child-welfare agency, such as a Department of Social Services
1 or more years of experience working with adoption or adoption subsidy
Collaborating with partnering agencies such as mental health, schools, court services, police, and service vendors
Supervising staff who have performed professional-level work
Knowledge of state and federal child welfare policies and procedures
