Accounting Technician
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest agencies in the state, responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of North Carolinians. They are seeking an Accounting Technician III to process payment requests and interpret billing in accordance with established policies.

Responsibilities
Responsible for the screening and processing of payment requests from vendors and providers of services to eligible recipients of services of the public assistance programs in DSB, DVRS, and DSDHH
Interprets third party billing and payments using policies and procedures outlined by Medicaid, Medicare and NCTracks
Expected to perform independently within established procedures and regulations and receive general instructions on methods of work
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in Accounting from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in accounting
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of experience in accounting work
An equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred
Demonstrated experience in a medical billing environment
Demonstrated experience working in a financial system or Enterprise Resource System (e.g. QuickBooks, SAP, NC Financial System, etc.)
Experience applying Medicaid, Medicare, Third Party Billing and NCTracks rules
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook
