InternNewpark Fluids Systems is a leading provider of innovative drilling fluids solutions, and they are seeking a data-driven and analytical HSEQ Intern. The role involves supporting the development of a predictive analytics model to transition the business from a reactive to a proactive safety approach by identifying emerging risks and trends using global Health & Safety and Vehicle Incident data.

Responsibilities
Analyze global HSEQ and Vehicle Incident historical datasets to identify patterns, correlations, and leading indicators
Develop predictive models to answer critical questions such as:
Which jobs or activities are statistically most associated with incidents?
Which crews or employees show elevated risk based on trends or behaviors?
Which locations or tasks are demonstrating rising near‑miss activity?
What environmental factors (weather, heat, fatigue, time of day) influence incident likelihood?
Are certain driving behaviors predictive of vehicle accidents?
Build dashboards or automated reporting (Power BI preferred) to deliver quarterly or semiannual updates
Assist in designing a live, scalable system that can continue generating insights after internship completion
Partner with HSEQ team members to align analytics with operational realities and training needs
Present findings and recommendations to HSEQ leadership and operational teams
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Public Health, or a related field
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience in:
Statistical analysis
Predictive modeling or machine learning concepts
Data visualization tools (Power BI preferred)
Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft applications
Ability to work with large, complex datasets and ensure data quality
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate data insights into actionable recommendations
Preferred
Experience with Power BI or similar predictive modeling libraries
Understanding of HSEQ concepts, occupational safety, or incident reporting systems
Familiarity with geospatial or environmental data sources
Previous exposure to operational or industrial environments
