Responsibilities
Carry out transitions of Layer 2 circuits from Cyan Z-Series platforms onto Ciena RSP systems (SAOS 10)
Provision, test, and verify new services ahead of scheduled change windows
Execute service transitions during planned maintenance periods, working closely with customer personnel
Adhere to existing migration guidelines while contributing suggestions for process enhancements
Monitor, record, and communicate progress throughout the migration to maintain accuracy and alignment
Act as the key technical liaison between the customer and internal teams during the residency
Qualification
Required
Proven, practical experience working with Ciena RSP systems and the SAOS 10 operating environment (essential)
Solid understanding of core Layer 2 protocols and technologies, including VLANs, QinQ, and Ethernet-based services
Background in performing network migrations or cutovers within active production/customer environments
Demonstrated capability to operate autonomously while delivering results in a client-facing setting
