Deputy Chief Operating Officer
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment is seeking a Deputy Chief Operating Officer to oversee the Medicaid divisions, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and optimizing operational efficiency. The role includes leading teams, interfacing with various stakeholders, and developing cooperative relationships to improve health outcomes for Kansans.

Responsibilities
Develops a strong and cooperative working relationship with Medicaid Director and Medicaid Operations director, including developing a strong working knowledge of all program areas and serves as the Deputy Medicaid Director, representing all areas of the Medicaid program
Coordinates with other state Medicaid programs, stakeholders, providers, associations and more to identify best practices, services or other program elements that can improve the Kansas Medicaid program
Partners with public health division of KDHE to develop data exchange and processes that collectively benefit outcomes of both programs and improve health of Kansans
Administers and coordinates policy and program efforts with other state agencies/sections/units to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
Qualification
Required
High School, GED
5 years in a business or executive management role leading large teams
4 years direct experience through a combination of relevant work experience, training or certification or 5 years senior level leadership experience
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
Proofreading, editing, attention to detail
Communication skills both oral and in writing
Analytical skills
Experience planning and leading strategic initiatives
Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate: A valid Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate is a condition of employment for all employees of the State of Kansas
Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State
